The 86th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the third one within the Shiragiku-no-Taki cluster. This one is truly tiny, and it features a quartet of porcelain foxes, two small, and two tiny, with one of the small ones missing its tail.

The 85th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the second one within the Shiragiku-no-Taki cluster. In addition to Inari, this one is also dedicated to Benzaiten. I suppose it makes sense that an area which seems to be made of cascades has many shrines dedicated to the goddess of everything that flows.

Anyways, a pair of small stone foxes watches over this one, and for a change, neither of them is holding anything in their maws.

446 ~ Ooiwa Ookami, Shiragiku Ookami, Suehiro Ookami (and more) (Shiragiku no Taki cluster start)

Japanese Names: 大岩大神, 白菊大神, 末廣大神+

The 84th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the first one within the Shiragiku-no-Taki (白菊の滝 "White Chrysanthemum's Waterfall") cluster, which is literally just next to Nanamen-no-Taki, only few meters up the road. Looks like there's quite a lot of waterfalls in this area.

Anyway this one again features the usual pair of life-sized stone foxes, with the left one holding a scroll, and the right one holding an orb.

445 ~ Susa Daimyoujin (Nanamen-no-Taki cluster end)

Japanese Name: 須佐大明神
Romanized Reading: Susa Daimyoujin
English Translation: Ought to Help Great Radiant Deity
Size: Tiny Side shrine of Nanamen-no-Taki
Deity: Susanoo?
Fox Count: 2
First Visit: 25-Dec-2018

Address: 0813 612 Fukakusa Gokurakuji Yamacho, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0813
Coordinates
: 34.9644 135.7871

The 83rd vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the fifth and last one within the Nanamen-no-Taki cluster. This one again features the usual pair of life-sized stone foxes, with the left one holding a scroll, and the right one holding an orb.

While I am not 100% certain, I believe that this shrine is dedicated to Susanoo, god of storms, since the first to Kanji match, and the missing two Kanji 之男 ("Man who") are pretty much just a suffix to the actual name. I can't be certain though.

444 ~ Tenmei Daimyoujin, Ukanomitama Ookami (and more) (Silver Foxes)

Japanese Name: 天命大明神, 宇迦之御魂大神++

First Visit: 25-Dec-2018
Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address: 0813 612 Fukakusa Gokurakuji Yamacho, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0813
Coordinates
: 34.9644 135.7871

The 82nd vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the fourth within the Nanamen-no-Taki cluster. This one features a pair of tiny, silver-colored porcelain foxes, which is no something I have seen anywhere else thus far.

Ukanomitama is a name that you often find as the enshrined deity of Inari Shrines. So maybe "Inari" is more like a group of rice/food/fertility/wealth deities, and "Inari" is more of a title than a name? It would make sense since "Inari" literally translates to "Rice Bearer". Well, as long as they shelter foxes at their shrines, that's good for me.

It also has three Iwakura with plenty of other names. Unfortunately, I don't have a clear shot of all of them. But if you want to try deciphering them, here's what I have:

The 81st vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the third within the Nanamen-no-Taki cluster. This one again features the usual pair of life-sized stone foxes, with the left one holding a scroll, and the right one holding an orb.

This shrine is dedicated to Benzaiten, goddess of water, music, knowledge, and everything that flows.

Coordinates
: 34.9644 135.7871

The 80th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the second within the Nanamen-no-Taki cluster. This one features a pair of crude, slightly smaller-than-life stone foxes, the left one of which is holding an orb, and the right one of which holds nothing, but has lost a leg already.

This shrine has two additional names that I could not decipher on account of them being very faint. If you want to try your luck, here's a closeup of the Iwakura.

Address: 0813 612 Fukakusa Gokurakuji Yamacho, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0813

The 79th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the first within the Nanamen-no-Taki (七面の滝 "Waterfall of Seven Faces") cluster. It is located on the opposite side of the previous one in relation to the  little stream running down this forested valley. It is also a pretty small cluster, compared to the previous two, with only 5 fox shrines in total. But don't worry. There's more nearby.

A usual, a pair of life-sized stone foxes watch over this one, with the left one holding a scroll, and the right one holding an orb. The right one is broken into two, however, with its lower half still resting on its pedestal, and its upper half leaning against the Iwakura.

Regarding the shrine names... I am certain about the main name, but there's something weird about the other names: The second to last Kanji is something I can't make heads or tails off. Here's some closeups, in case you want to try and decipher it.

Coordinates

The 78th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and for the first time in a long time, a standalone shrine that is not part of any cluster (don't worry though, the next cluster is coming right up).

This one is located a little ways up the road from where the path to/from Aokigataki emerges. The shrine is at the end of a curved driveway, so you can only notice it if you walk past and then look back.

Also, like pretty much everything in this area, this shrine, too, is associated with a waterfall. This one is called Magokoro-no-Taki (真心ノ瀧 "Sincerity's Waterfall"). Like most other shrines around, it features a pair of life-sized stone foxes, with the left one holding a scroll, and the right one holding an orb.

The 74th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the 13th within the Aokigataki cluster. As usual, it features a pair of stone foxes, but these are rather small. This one again features the usual pair of life-sized stone foxes, with the left one holding a scroll, and the right one holding an orb.

As for the names of this shrine... again, weathering in combination with the sun's glare make it hard to read. I'm not even 100% sure about the one name I listed this shrine under. If you want to try deciphering these, then be my guest.

435 ~ Shiratama Inari (and more)

The 73rd vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the twelfth within the Aokigataki cluster. As usual, it features a pair of stone foxes, but these are rather small. The left one holds a scroll, and the right one might hold an orb, but really, I'm not sure.

This one features plenty of names on its six Iwakura, but they are pretty badly weathered, and I also didn't get any good pictures. I can barely make out the name Shiratama Inari, but those are only the first Kanji of the name, so I suspect they are followed by "Ookami" or "Daimyoujin". As for the other names, good luck if you want to figure those out.

The 72nd vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the eleventh within the Aokigataki cluster. We're now at the back entrance of its central area, which is as unwelcoming as the front entrance. So I can only take a picture of this shrine from a distance, which made it a bit blurry. The two life-sized stone foxes are plain to see, but I can't tell whether the left one is holding an orb or a scroll. The right one is definitely holding an orb though.

This is also the first shrine in a way where I can tell which deity it belongs to. And it doesn't belong to just any deity, but Ookuninushi, one of the three Kunitsukami.

The 69th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the eight within the Aokigataki cluster. It features the usual pair of life-sized stone foxes. However, this time it's different: It looks like the foxes on both sides are holding an orb. That, or maybe the scroll of the left has broken off, making it look like an orb instead.

The 68th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the seventh within the Aokigataki cluster. It features the usual pair of life-sized stone foxes, with the left one holding a scroll, and the right one holding an orb.

I got a nice shot of the Iwakura. However, with the glyphs pretty faded and the glare of the sun, I can't make out the left name, apart from the "Ookami" at the end. Feel free to give it a go.

The 67th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the sixth within the Aokigataki cluster. It features the usual pair of life-sized stone foxes, with the left one holding a scroll, and the right one holding an orb.

Unfortunately, I have no picture on which the first character of the shrine's third name is visible. And to be honest, the second Kanji of the second name is also a wild guess. Here's the best picture I have of the Iwakura.

470 ~ Shironaga Ookami, Hakusei Ookami, Shirayoshi Ookami (and more)

Japanese Name : 白長大神, 白清大神, 白吉大神++ Romanized Readings : Shironaga Ookami, Hakusei Ookami, Shirayoshi Ookami++ English Translations : White...
