Japanese Names: 竹龍大神, 熊一大神++
Romanized Readings: Takeryuu Ookami, Kumaichi Ookami ++
English Translations: Bamboo Dragon Great Deity, Bear One Great Deity++
Size: Tiny side shrine of Kobogataki within Fushimi Inari Taisha

First Visit: 25-Dec-2018
Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address: 27 Fukakusa Sasayamachō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0811
Coordinates
: 34.9655, 135.7807

The 29th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, the 22nd within the Kobogataki supercluster, and the ninth in the latter's central area. This one features two life-sized stone foxes again, the left one holding a scroll, while the right one is holding an orb.

This shrine has (at least) two more names, but this time around I don't have any pictures where the whole names is legible. All I can tell is that one name starts with the character 光 (light) and the other with 天 (heaven).

388 ~ Gyokuki Ookami, Kanataka Ookami (and more)

Japanese Names: 玉姫大神, 金高大神++
Romanized Readings: Gyokuki Ookami, Kanataka Ookami++

Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address: 27 Fukakusa Sasayamachō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0811
Coordinates
: 34.9655, 135.7807

The 28th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, the 21st within the Kobogataki supercluster, and the eight in the latter's central area. Only a single life-sized stone fox watches over this one, with an empty pedestal on the right side marking the place where its mate probably once sat. This makes this one one of only two fox shrines in the Kobogataki supercluster to feature only a single fox.

Again, the names on the two Iwakura here are really hard to read. If you feel like giving it a shot, here you go!

The 27th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, the 20th within the Kobogataki supercluster, and the seventh in the latter's central area. As usual, two life-sized stone foxes watch over this one.

The names on the Iwakura are pretty illegible, but maybe someone can figure them out.

The 26th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, the 19th within the Kobogataki supercluster, and the sixth in the latter's central area. The obligatory pair of stone foxes here is a bit smaller-than-life.

Also, this one has a total of seven names, but I wasn't able to decipher the left- and rightmost. If you feel like giving it a go, here's the picture with all the names:

Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address:27 Fukakusa Sasayamachō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0811

: 34.9655, 135.7807

The 25th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, the 18th within the Kobogataki supercluster, and the fifth in the latter's central area. The two stone foxes here are I think just a bit bigger than the ones at the other shrines here. Also, just to clarify, in addition to the many, MANY fox shrines here, there's also a number of shrines without foxes in the Kobogataki supercluster (because clearly there weren't enough side shrines here already). Specifically, up until this point, there were five of those.

Again, this shrine has more names than I mentioned above, limited by the pictures that I took. I had to guess for some of the names above too, and again, if you'd like to help me guess, here's the original pictures:

Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address:27 Fukakusa Sasayamachō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0811

The 24th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, the 17th within the Kobogataki supercluster, and the fourth in the latter's central area. The usual two life-sized stone foxes are partially hidden by the red extra Torii.

383 ~ Mitsukichi Ookami (and more)

Japanese Names: 三吉大神, ?心大神, 荒?大神
Romanized Readings: Mitsukichi Ookami++

: 34.9655, 135.7807

The 23rd vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, the 16th within the Kobogataki supercluster, and the third in the latter's central area. As usual, it features a pair of life-sized stone foxes.

Again, this one has a couple of names, but I can only clearly read the one on the "gift Torii" placed in front of the Iwakura. As for the others, while they are clearly engraved on the rock, they are so stylized that I can't make heads or tails of them. Dragon, I can only recognize the 大神 at the end of each name because I'm so used at seeing that by now. Feel free to give it a shot if you like.

382 ~ Suehiro Ookami (and more)

Japanese Names: 末廣大神++
Romanized Readings: Suehiro Ookami++

Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address:27 Fukakusa Sasayamachō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0811
Coordinates
: 34.9655, 135.7807

The 22nd vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, the 15th within the Kobogataki supercluster, and the second in the latter's central area. It features the usual pair of stone foxes, though I think these are a bit smaller-than-life.

It also has a couple of other names. This time however the issue is not that they are illegible, but rather that they're obstructed by the extra Torii, which only features the primary name.

381 ~ Goryuu Ookami (Kobogataki Central Area Start)

Japanese Name: 御龍大神
Romanized Reading: Goryuu Ookami
English Translation: Honorable Dragon Great Deity
Size: Small side shrine of Kobogataki within Fushimi Inari Taisha
Deity: ?
Fox Count: 2
First Visit: 25-Dec-2018
Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address:27 Fukakusa Sasayamachō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0811
Coordinates
: 34.9655, 135.7807

The 21st vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the 14th within the Kobogataki supercluster. This one is the first one within the central area, located behind the main temple building, where a row of tiny shrines stands next to one another. As usual, a pair of life-sized stone foxes watch over this one. The one on the right is explicitly male, which I suppose means the one on the left is a vixen. That brings the vixen side count to 11:33 (which neatly rounds to 1:3).

The 20th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the 13th within the Kobogataki supercluster, located in the western area. This one features a total of six names, all of which I am actually able to read. Also, there's the obligatory pair of life-sized stone foxes.

Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address:27 Fukakusa Sasayamachō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0811
Coordinates
: 34.9655,135.7806

The 19th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the twelfth within the Kobogataki supercluster, located in its western area. This one features a pair of Komainu again, sitting in front of the obligatory two life-sized stone foxes. It would appear that foxes and dogs mingle more frequently in this area.

Also, I wasn't able to decipher one of the Kanji in one of the names. As usual, feel free to give it a try, and post what you think it might be in the comments. The Kanji in question is on the bottom left Iwakura, the second from the bottom.

Japanese Names: 八大龍王, 白瀧大神, 末廣大神

Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address:27 Fukakusa Sasayamachō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0811
Coordinates
: 34.9655,135.7806

The 18th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the eleventh within the Kobogataki supercluster, located in the western area. This one is one of the six shrines in this cluster that doesn't have exactly two life sized stone foxes watching over it. Instead, it is one of three that has four of them, two pairs. Curiously, each of them bear a coin on their head, with one having it wedged upright between its ears.

Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address:27 Fukakusa Sasayamachō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0811
Coordinates
: 34.9655,135.7806
The 17th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the tenth within the Kobogataki supercluster, located in the western area. For once, all the names of this shrine are clearly legible, which doesn't necessarily clear up things, since some of them are really weird, so my readings and translations may be a bit off. It also features the usual pair of two life-sized stone foxes.

376 ~ Ookou Ookami, Tamayoshi Ookami (and more) (Komainu)

Japanese Names: 王光大神, 玉吉大神++

First Visit: 25-Dec-2018
Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address:27 Fukakusa Sasayamachō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0811
Coordinates
: 34.9655,135.7806

The 16th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the ninth within the Kobogataki supercluster, located in the western area. This one features two stone Komainu sitting side by side with the two life-sized stone foxes. That is unusual, but I have seen it at a few fox shrines by now. Still, I'd say it only occurs at about 1% of fox shrines, so it's still a rarity.

Again, this shrine has many more names, but I can't make them out. If anyone wants to help me decipher any extra names, here's the pictures, and feel free to leave a comment if you have any success.

The 15th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the eight within the Kobogataki supercluster, located in the western area. This one is a bit bigger than the others, featuring a roofed area in front of the shrine where one can shelter from rain. Apart from that, the usual two life-sized stone foxes watch over this shrine.

374 ~ Shirogiku Ookami, Tateryuu Ookami, Amahiro Ookami

Japanese Names: 白菊大神, 立龍大神, 天廣大神

The 14th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the seventh within the Kobogataki supercluster, located in the western area. This one features the usual pair of two life-sized stone foxes. Interestingly, they wear black bibs instead of the traditional red ones. I wonder if there's a story behind that.

373 ~ Kikumaku Ookami, Sutemaru Ookami

Japanese Names: 菊丸大神, 捨丸大神
Romanized Readings: Kikumaku Ookami, Sutemaru Ookami

Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address:27 Fukakusa Sasayamachō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0811
Coordinates
: 34.9655,135.7806

The 13th vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the sixth within the Kobogataki supercluster, located in the western area. This one features a small and slightly broken porcelain fox in addition two its two obligatory (and also kinda weathered) life-sized stone foxes. This makes it one of the odd shrines out here, because really, most of the shrines in this supercluster have exactly two foxes. In fact, of the 56 fox shrines in here, only six have more or less than two foxes, and this is the only one that features exactly three. What are the odds?

372 ~ Kumo Benzaiten

The twelfth vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the fifth within the Kobogataki supercluster, located in the western area. This one is dedicated to Benzaiten, goddess of music and knowledge and everything that flows. The obligatory pair of stone foxes watching over this one is slightly smaller-than-life.

371 ~ (Illegible) Ookami

Japanese Name: ??大神
Romanized Reading: ? Ookami
English Translation: ? Great Deity

Location: Kyoto-Fushimi
Address:27 Fukakusa Sasayamachō, Fushimi Ward, Kyoto, 612-0811
Coordinates

The eleventh vulpine side shrine of Fushimi Inari Taisha, and the fourth one within the Kobogataki supercluster, located in the western area, again with a pair of life-sized stone foxes to watch over it. Both the Iwakura and the stone plaque of this shrine are so badly weathered that I can't make out its name. If you feel like giving it a shot, here's a high-resolution picture of each. Good luck!
