Japanese Names: 下谷稲荷社, 隆栄稲荷神社
Romanized Readings: Shitaya Inarisha, Ryuei Inari Jinja
English Translations: Lower Valley Inari Shrine, High Prosperity Inari Shrine
Size: Small Side Shrine (of Shitaya Jinja)
Deity: Inari
Fox Count: Many
First Visit: 19-Apr-2018
Location: Tokyo-Taito
Address: 3 Chome-31-3 Higashiueno, Taitō-ku, Tōkyō-to 110-0015A foxy side shrine of Shitaya Jinja (下谷神社 "Lower Valley Shrine"), which may or may not be two shrines in one. To the left, there's a rocky outcropping that features quite a lot of foxes of wildly varying make and size, while to the right there's a typical shrine building flanked by two more elegant foxes. Also, the red flags all read "Shitaya Inarisha", so I don't know where the other name "Ryuei Inari Jinja" comes from, apart from that this is what the shrine is labeled as on Google Maps. However, I do know that it is not uncommon for shrines to have multiple names, so this may very well be the case here.
